Born in Simcoe, Ontario, The Rev. Paul Lampman was raised in Port Dover and Vittoria on the north shore of Lake Erie amid rolling hills, green pastures, excellent trout streams and rich farmland. Paul studied Philosophy and Classics (B.A. Trent ’87), French (C.F.L.S. Laval ’89), Theology at McGill (B.Th.,’91, S.T.M ‘92, M.Div. ’93) and received his Private Pilot License ’96. Paul taught New Testament Greek and studied Eucharistic Ecclesiology: the Church as Communion in the graduate programme at Mount Angel Abbey Seminary, St Benedict Oregon; and he taught Ecclesiology at St John’s College, U of M. Studies since then have been in the areas of mental health and counseling. Paul holds a black belt in a traditional form of karate.

Paul has served in the following churches: Good Shepherd, Montreal; St. George’s, Place du Canada, Christ Church Cathedral, Montreal; Cathedral of the Holy Trinity, Québec, QC; the Greater Parish of Gaspé and the Magdelan Islands; St. John’s College Chapel, and St. Luke’s Winnipeg for the last fourteen years.

After ordination in 1993, Paul served the people of St. Clement’s Mission on the Lower North Shore of Québec and lived in Mutton Bay. At one time the territory covered was 350 km of coastline with little or no roads, and he travelled by plane, helicopter, quad, snow-mobile, truck, outboard, and cargo ferry to care for people all along the coast. Heather and Paul were married in 1994 and they moved to the Parish of New Carlisle on the Gaspé coast in 1996. Paul helped to raise $1.5 M to redo the foundation and develop a parish hall for the church there. In 2003 the family moved to Winnipeg where Paul served as Chaplain and Dean of Residence at St. John’s College, U of M. Since July of 2010, St. Luke’s has been home. Paul and Heather are proud parents of three children (Luke, Gabriella, and James).
