Red river celebration…

At the November 17th meeting of Vestry the decision was made to cancel the Red River Celebration this year. Thanks are conveyed to all involved in the presentation of the Red River Celebration.

2011 Canadian Church Calendars are available in the Narthex. Cost is $6.

Christmas cards…

Cathedral Christmas cards are available in the Narthex. Cost is $10 for 12 cards and envelopes.

Altar guild meeting…

The Altar Guild will meet in the Sacristy on Saturday, December 11th at 9:30 a.m. Please be sure to mark this date on your calendar!

2010 donations…

Please note that all donations must be received by December 31, 2010 to be eligible for a tax receipt for the current calendar year.

Coffee time…

We are still looking for volunteers to donate baking for our coffee time after the 10:30 a.m. service on Sunday. Your Cathedral community is thankful for all baking contributions!

The charlie brown tree…

is now laden with your donations of new mitts, gloves, scarves, hats, and toques! We will send the fruit of the Charlie Brown Tree to North End Schools for children who need them.

Transition team…

Those appointed by Vestry to serve on the Transition Team during the interim period are: Terry Barber, Maureen Dolyniuk, Marlene Janzen, Peter Spencer and Patricia Stagg. The Transition Team members are beginning to plan three or four parish events to be held in the new year. Please keep the Transition Team and the Cathedral leadership in your prayers.

stewardship…

St. John the Baptist was chosen to be ‘the prophet of the Most High God’. (Luke 1.76) As baptized Christians we too are called to be prophets. What has this got to do with stewardship? If we are to be prophetic then we must, by the example of our lives and the witness of our speech, be good stewards of the Gospel message and share it.
